A new beginning for the Buech
Zurich, 25 June 2025
A new chapter is set to unfold at the renowned Restaurant Buech in Herrliberg: Starting in November 2025, Andreas Caminada will bring his culinary signature to the establishment and implement a refreshed overall concept. Perched above Lake Zurich, this historic venue belongs to The Living Circle and will now be curated by its partner operation, the Caminada Group—marking a significant step forward in the joint future of both companies.
A strong partnership for a special place "The Restaurant Buech is a place with a long history and great potential. For my team and me, it’s a special task to help shape and further develop this house going forward," says Andreas Caminada. The new concept is the result of a partnership that has been in place for the past three years between the hotel group The Living Circle and the Caminada Group. Marco Zanolari, CEO of The Living Circle, looks forward to this culinary transition: "The Buech is a unique destination—cherished by guests from our Zurich hotels as well as by locals from the region. We are proud of the progress we've made in recent years and now want to take this remarkable place to the next level together with Andreas Caminada and his team. They bring the expertise and experience needed to move the Buech forward. Thanks to the close collaboration between the Caminada Group and The Living Circle, the Buech will stay in the family."
Culinary evolution with respect for tradition The Buech has been successfully operated by The Living Circle since 2017. Its positioning will remain largely unchanged. "We’re not planning a fine-dining concept," Caminada emphasizes. "But we aim to create a place of pleasurable experiences by introducing new culinary highlights, modernizing the guest experience, and adding an 'Atelier Caminada' concept in the adjacent building." Pricing will also remain in line with the current offering. "The unique charm of the Buech stems from the surrounding agricultural farms on the Pfannenstiel. These are ideal conditions for a regional and seasonal cuisine," Caminada adds. The future team will consist of members from both the current staff and the Caminada Group. "This realignment presents a valuable opportunity to create something new—together, with team spirit and fresh ideas," says Caminada. The Buech will temporarily close between late October and mid-November for light renovation work.
