Since 2017: Where hospitality and nature come together
The Living Circle was founded in 2017 from a simple idea: to connect exceptional hotels, great cuisine and own agriculture in a natural way. The guiding principle: Luxury fed by nature.
The Living Circle has its origins in the Maggia Delta in Ascona. There, Castello del Sole has been surrounded by its own cultivated land for decades – vineyards, orchards and fields stretching to Lago Maggiore. What began here shapes the group to this day: a closeness to nature, a genuine joy of hospitality and the ambition to connect quality with provenance. Today, The Living Circle brings together houses with their own history – in the city, by the water and amidst nature.

Our houses
Widder Hotel: Nine historic buildings in the heart of Zurich's old town, some dating back to the 13th century – united into an award-winning boutique hotel of character, design and history.
Storchen Zürich: First documented in 1357, situated directly on the Limmat – a true Zurich institution.
Alex Lake Zürich: A retreat on Lake Zurich – calm, modern and close to the water.
Castello del Sole: Built in 1532 in Ascona, this award-winning hotel is nestled in the expansive natural surroundings of Ascona – with direct access to Lago Maggiore.
Château de Raymontpierre: A stately country estate in the Jura dating from 1595, surrounded by forests, meadows and a modern organic farm.
Agriculture
The Living Circle group includes Terreni alla Maggia, Cantina alla Maggia, Schlattgut in Herrliberg and the organic farm in the Jura. Much of what is served in our restaurants comes directly from these places. This is how dishes with provenance are created – shaped by season, care and a genuine closeness to nature.
